Vote on DREAM Act

The Nightmare Returns:

Vote on DREAM Act

Scheduled for Saturday

We won the Omni(porku)bus battle for now, but this lame duck congress isn’t finished yet!
The immediate work in front of us is the DREAM Act. Tomorrow, Saturday, December 18, 2010, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will force a cloture vote on the DREAM Act. Cloture is not the final vote, but our chances of killing the bill are much higher before it goes to final vote. Even though tomorrow is Saturday, make sure you call the targeted Senators tonight and in the morning. Do you think it is a coincidence that they would send the bill to vote on a day that they expect the American people to be disengaged? I think not!

Action Items

  1. Call and email target Senators – Click Here
  2. Forward the information on to your groups, family, friends, etc.

 Main points

The cost of this bill cannot even be truly calculated, as it is an open door for the rest of time. There is no way we can begin to estimate the potential costs at the state and federal levels.

  1. Most state governments are severely broke and this bill would add to their already broken systems by forcing them to fund the education and give financial aid to unknown numbers of illegal immigrants – forever!
  2. There is no accountability and little transparency in this bill, and it is impossible to accurately predict the ramifications.
  3. This bill makes a mockery of the rule of law, and forces the federal government to shirk its constitutional duties of securing our borders.
