We have an exciting General Assembly scheduled this Sunday, March 27, at 2 PM at the 1st Baptist Church in Moriarty. (There is no affiliation between the Tea Party and the Church.)
We have three dynamic speakers scheduled:
Representative Jim Smith (R-Edgewood) will give a talk about the recent Legislative Session in Santa Fe, from his experiences as a freshman in the House of Representatives.
Lt. Governor John Sanchez will give us an inside look on presiding as President of the Senate during the contentious Session.
Former Congresswoman Heather Wilson will give a Powerpoint presentation and commentary about current events on the national level. Bring a pencil and paper because it is sure to be very informative, particularly about the status and effects of Obamacare.
Following this treasure trove of information regarding our state and national government, we will have an informal Meet and Greet with candidates for Bingaman’s open Senate seat, and also a chance to talk to Janice Arnold-Jones and Dan Lewis, who have each launched an Exploratory Committee for the 1st Congressional seat, currently occupied by Martin Heinrich. Other candidates have been invited, but have not yet responded.
